Assignment # 8 The Photo Montage

Read your hand out on Special Effects Montage (assignment #8) and follow the steps provided. Make sure you use the links provided to give you some ideas. In this project you will become more familliar with your camera functions, as well as adobe Photoshop on your computer.

A photo montage is simply a collection of separate images compiled in to one to create a single image.

In this assignment you will be expected to provide 3 photos.

Using The Elements in your Photographs ~DONE~

For this assignment you will incorporate some of the elements and principles of art into your images. Find examples of lines, patterns movement, texture, extreme lighting, and selective focus. Use them to create strong black and white images with a solid of contrast. Read the handout carefully and submit 4 images for each composition style. Make sure you label each picture what elements or principles your picture represents.

Please make sure you are making your photographes interesting. Be creative! And be sure that your photo follows the criteria. And remember when you are asked to take a picture of texture....dont give me the literal form. In your picture "Texture" should be the main element but not the only aspect of the photo.

 An abstract photo depicts a real life subject in an unnatural way.

Abtraction is the photographic art that is not representational of real objects in the natural world. By taking the essence of the photo or a portion of the photo and by using color and or the form in an aesthetic arrangement or combination, the photographic abstraction becomes art.

Biography ~DONE~

In this assignment you will go out and take pictures of your self, your interests. You will experiment on photoshop. The assignment should comunicate to the viewer a personal history of your self. Make sure you touch on all aspects so that the viewer gets a sense of who you are. Make sure you consider the the basics of composition that you have just learned.
Place the pictures on photoshop, choose fonts that suit your character and colours.

I have provided below an example of a photographic biography, you do not have to write as much as is in the example, but you do have to include some writing.

What you would like to be when you grow up
Who are your heroes and why
What are you involved in--sports,drama etc.
Where do you see yourself
